Method and sources

• Companies: Companies Registration Office company register, open data (high-value dataset under Regulation (EU) 2023/138), CC BY 4.0, read on 29 October 2026. Five numbers appear twice in the file; the row with the latest status date is kept.
• Financial statements: CRO financial statements indexes 2022, 2023 and 2024 (date received, period end). The documents themselves are sold by the CRO.
• County: read from the registered office address (99.9 % of active companies).
• Sector: NACE Rev. 2 code declared to the CRO (64 % of active companies), labels from Eurostat.
• Late filing: deadline = next annual return date + 56 days; fee = €100 + €3 a day after the deadline, up to €1,200 (CRO). An estimate on the data date: the company may have filed since.
• Not included: directors and shareholders (not in the open register), charities (pending), credit scores.
